Shaan Groverr recalls, “Uncle was a man with a golden heart,” after learning of Rituraj Singh’s passing. Exclusive

When actor Shaan Groverr learned about Rituraj Singh’s passing, he was devastated. The actor, who was most recently seen in the television series Anupamaa, died suddenly Friday night, February 19, at the age of 59, from cardiac arrest.
Groverr, who often appeared on film with the deceased actor, also had familial ties to him.
“Even though my father’s friend, Rituraj uncle quickly became a close friend of mine,” he said.

I could always contact him and ask anything, no matter how big or little. He was always there to support and mentor me, whether on a personal or professional level. I guess I was never scared to talk to him about my issues since I had faith in him and knew he would give me sound advice.”
Shaan remembers their collaboration. He went on, “There was a lot to learn from him, and he was very professional.” I recall that we collaborated on the short film Kaidi for the first time. I created it. In addition, we completed two other projects on the internet platform. He was really sweet, modest, and vibrant. Our friendship deepened after working on many projects together. For me, he served as a family when I was living in Mumbai since my parents had moved to Delhi.”
He lamented his passing and said, “It’s difficult to accept that he’s no longer among us. A tremendous talent has passed away, which is a major loss. Although I shall mourn him, I will also cherish our times together and his creations. His acting talents have kept us captivated for more than ten years. There is no denying that he was a guy with a golden heart—people who knew him firsthand would never disagree. I hope his admirers and family are able to get over the loss.”
