After receiving requests from member boards, BCCI is considering scheduling changes for the 2023 World Cup

Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering shifting the date, the highly anticipated World Cup match between India and Pakistan is now set for October 15. But there are also other things in store.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-100537″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-after-receiving-requests-from-member-boards-bcci-is-considering-scheduling-changes-for-the-2023-world-cup-download-4.jpg” alt=”” width=”1262″ height=”707″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-after-receiving-requests-from-member-boards-bcci-is-considering-scheduling-changes-for-the-2023-world-cup-download-4.jpg 300w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-after-receiving-requests-from-member-boards-bcci-is-considering-scheduling-changes-for-the-2023-world-cup-download-4-150×84.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1262px) 100vw, 1262px” />

“We have received requests to modify the schedule from a few ICC member boards competing in the World Cup.”

The fact that we don’t need to change venues is crucial for us. Reporters were briefed by BCCI secretary Jay Shah during a meeting with the 10 staging organisations on Thursday in Delhi.

It was necessary to move up the India vs. Pakistan game so that it wouldn’t clash with the state’s extensively recognized Navaratri holiday.

As a consequence, police forces can have security issues. Shah categorically disputed that the match was postponed due to security concerns.

It has been reported that attempts are being made to conduct the match on October 14 despite the fact that no alternative dates have been formally declared. This is done in an effort to prevent badly disturbing the plans of the ICC’s sponsors, suppliers, and cricket fans who may have already booked hotels and flights to Ahmedabad.

Given previous scheduling alterations, the lengthier gap between certain matches could be minimized.

It won’t be obvious how many changes would need to be made to the 46-day event’s original timetable until the following 3–4 days.

The BCCI made it clear that actual tickets will still be offered for the 2018 World Cup.

According to information obtained, the board is dubious as to whether the requisite infrastructure is set up at big stadiums in India to perform an e-ticketing exercise.

About a week before each game, the Indian board plans to put up a number of ticket-collection sites at venues to make sure that spectators do not have to bear the inconvenience of standing in lengthy queues.

Tickets won’t go on sale until the amended timetable is revealed, which is presumably the following week.
