How Chennai Super Kings Reached a Record-Seting Tenth Final in IPL 2023

The Chennai Super Kings have returned to their rightful place. The four-time winners' second-to-last result in IPL 2022 was an exception. They had quite the turnaround after losing to the favorites and reigning champion Gujarat Titans in the first qualifier to go to the final for a record-extending 10th time. They did this by first qualifying for the playoffs as the second-best team of the league stage.

Their fantastic run has been influenced by a variety of variables. Their opening duo of Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad has often given them strong beginnings. The middle order has been giving strong contributions, while CSK skipper MS Dhoni has been putting the finishing touches on innings despite dealing with a knee injury.

The season went on, and their bowlers quickly improved. Tushar Deshpande has also improved, Matheesha Pathirana has developed into a dependable death-overs bowler, and Ravindra Jadeja has been at his typical best.

Additionally, CSK has avoided changing its starting XIs, which has been their trademark.

How they reached the finals is shown below.

Here's how they reached the IPL 2023 championship game.

Match 1: Gujarat Titans defeated by 5 wickets.
Match 2 victory: 12 runs over Lucknow Super Giants
Match 3: Mumbai Indians were defeated by 7 wickets.
Match 4: Rajasthan Royals prevailed by three runs.
Match 5 victory: 8 Runs over Royal Challengers Bangalore
Sunrisers Hyderabad were defeated in match 6 by 7 wickets.
Match 7: Kolkata Knight Riders were defeated by 49 runs.
Match 9: 32 runs were needed to defeat Rajasthan Royals.
Match 9: A four-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings
No outcome in match 10 vs Lucknow Super Giants.
Match 11: Mumbai Indians were defeated by 6 wickets.
Defeated Delhi Capitals by 27 runs in game 12
Loss against Kolkata Knight Riders in game 13 by 6 wickets
Match 14: Delhi Capitals were defeated by 77 runs.
Qualifier 1: Gujarat Titans were defeated by 15 runs.

In the IPL, CSK and GT have already faced off four times. During the first qualifier in Chennai earlier this week, CSK defeated GT for the first time after GT won the first three occasions.
